At 9:40 p.m., three people were seen entering a garage on mini-motorcycles, attempting to open the doors of multiple vehicles, a spokeswoman for the Hoboken police said. They were unsuccessful and left, the spokeswoman said.
Later that evening, the three suspects attempted to steal a Vespa near the 15th Street and Adams Street but the owner of the vehicle stopped them, authorities said. The Vespa sustained $2,000 in damages, authorities said.
Residents and/or businesses with security cameras on Adams Street between 8th and 15th Streets, that were recording between 9:40 p.m. and 10:20 p.m. on Thursday are asked to contact Det. John Quinones at quinonesj@hobokenpdnj.gov.
